WiMAX BS and CPE RX Testing

SeaSolve’s SeaMAX Generator Suite consists of signal generation solutions for fixed- and mobile-WiMAX systems compliant to the IEEE 802.16d-2004 and 802.16e-2005 standards, respectively.

Through signal generation, users are capable of testing the receiver characteristics of a DUT at the PHY layer, with the added ability of defining crucial MAC level parameters for the downlink and uplink subframes. The SeaMAX Generator Suite features the creation of multiple MPDUs in each DL/UL burst, with user-defined payload lengths. The mobile-WiMAX generators additionally support signal characteristics specific to OFDMA such as variable FFT sizes, boosting and sub-channelisation.

In order to characterize receiver performance over a broad range of signal qualities, the SeaMAX Generator Suite also allows the emulation of various RF impairments and channel models including, but not limited to, AWGN, frequency offset and SUI/mobility models.

The solutions are offered in both offline and online (real-time) flavors. The offline modules work with the creation of signal IQ data that can be offloaded to a 3rd-party waveform generator. The online modules are meant to be integrated into various RF vector signal generators in order to facilitate real-time signal generation in common WiMAX frequency bands (i.e. 2.5 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 5.8 GHz).

The SeaMAX generator Suite is available in three different Modules
